ROCKFORD Ill. (WIFR) -- The city market pavilion was filled with food lovers this evening at the 2nd annual “Bite Nite” food festival. The community had the chance to sample over 65 foods and drink items from 25 restaurants and businesses in Rockford, Loves Park, Roscoe and Rockton. Attendees voted for their favorites in four different food categories. This is a variation of city market because it's open to a lot of different area restaurants city market can't accommodate. Proceeds from the event benefit the Rock River development partnership. "We really enjoy doing this, bringing people down here to try out different events and obviously people are open to the idea because they are really very good about attending things that we put on so we're just trying to keep some new and fresh ideas going and hopefully Bite Nite will keep going after this year too," said Cathy Mcdermott, rock river development partnership. The Rock River development Partnership expected to see about 3 thousand people throughout the night. It hopes to make this an annual or even bi-annual event.
