The Bite Nite food festival is returning this weekend for its second year. The event will take place on Saturday in the City Market Pavilion. There will be more than 65 food and drink items from 25 businesses and restaurants in the Rockford area. Attendees can vote on a variety of categories like Best Appetizer, Best Spoonful, and Best Sweet Bite. There will also be other activities such as music, rides on The Royal Family Train, and face painting. "We have more vendors, we have an expanded area, we have more seating," Rock River Development Partnership Executive Director Cathy McDermott said. "A larger footprint. Last year, some of the feedback we got was that it was a little too small so we made it larger." The festival goes from 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.
