Friday marks halfway point of Rockford City Market season

ROCKFORD - Today marks the halfway point of Rockford City Market, so there are a number of new vendors that will set up for the first time.
Some of the new offerings include Pins and Squares, which is known for selling unique bowties. WhimseyWares815 will also have a new stand selling aprons and jewelry. Just Craftin' will set up for the first time, selling items including signs and pillows.
There will be new vendors selling flowers and produce as well. Twin Garden Farms will return to sell their popular Mirai sweet corn.
Music tonight includes Firelight Dimmers from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the main stage, and Josh Cohen from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. on the acoustic stage.
On Saturday, the 2nd annual Bite Night will be held at the City Market Pavilion from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. It will feature Rockford area restaurants and other vendors selling bite size portions. It is $5 admission and guests will be asked to vote for their favorite bites. Awards will be given to the vendors with the most votes across several categories.
